Terry Lee Kann, 73, 12737 Turkey Farm Road, Huntingdon, died at 2:44 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2023, at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.
Born June 9, 1950, in Huntingdon, he was a son of the late Homer Kann and Chloe (Grove) Kann-Brooks. He married Marjorie Kann Nov. 7, 1970, in Dudley. She preceded him in death Dec. 9, 2020.
He is survived by his two children, Shannon Gummo and husband, Douglas, Petersburg, and Justin H. Kann and companion, Kara Ellenberger, Huntingdon, three grandchildren, Darian Gummo, Petersburg, Lucas Gummo, Petersburg, and Kinleigh Kann, Huntingdon.
He is also survived by two brothers, Homer Kann and wife, Debbie, Tyrone, and Gary Kann and wife, Debbie, Petersburg.
Terry was a founding member of the Hartslog Valley Chapel Church.
He graduated from Huntingdon Area High School with the class of 1968. He also graduated from Williamsport Area Community College, now Pennsylvania College of Technology, Williamsport, Jan. 22, 1971, with a degree in diesel mechanics.
Terry retired in 2013 after working for a long number of years as a foreman/superintendent at New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co. Inc. In the mid 1970s, he worked as a police officer in Atlanta, Georgia.
He lived in Huntingdon County for most of his life and had lived at his Turkey Farm Road address since 1971.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, at the Cutright Funeral Homes — Smithfield Chapel, 313 Fairgrounds Road, and from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, at the Hartslog Valley Chapel, 9385 Homestead Road, Huntingdon.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church immediately following the visitation with the Rev. Nathaniel Kurtz officiating. Interment will be made privately by the family.
