Sandra Kay (Grey) Knode, 77, 6599 Towne Center Blvd., Huntingdon, Smithfield Township, died at 7:46 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2024, at UPMC Altoona Hospital, Altoona.
Born Jan. 11, 1947, in Huntingdon, she was the daughter of the late Herbert T. and Mary (Davis) Grey. She married Lee E. Knode Jr. March 16, 1968, at the First Methodist Church in Huntingdon. Mr. Knode survives at their residence.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two children: Jeffrey S. Knode of Huntingdon, Christine A. Knode of Mount Union; three grandchildren, Gavin M. Knode, Braedon J. Knode and Camden L. Knode, all of Huntingdon; and a brother, Thomas L. Grey and his wife Carol of York.
Sandra retired in 2003 after working for 26 years as a supervisor for Jostens Publication and Printing Co. in State College. Prior to Jostens, she worked at C.H. Miller and W.T. Grants in Huntingdon.
Sandy was an active member of the McAlevys Fort Civic Group. She was an avid Smithfield Fire Co. bingo player.
She enjoyed making arts and crafts and putting puzzles together in her spare time.
Sandy graduated from Huntingdon Area High School, class of 1964, and continued her education at the Art Institution of Pittsburgh and graduated in 1966.
She was a lifetime resident of Huntingdon County.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, at the Cutright Funeral Home—Smithfield Chapel, 313 Fairgrounds Road, Huntingdon. A memorial service will be held at 8 p.m. immediately following the visitation with the Rev. Georgetta “Cookie” Hartley and and Rev. Dolores Peters officiating.
Private interment will be made in Huntingdon Memorial Gardens, Walker Township.
