Peggy Grace Parsons, 83, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2024, following a short battle with cancer. She passed at her home in Petersburg with family by her side.

Peggy was born Sept. 19, 1940, in Petersburg, to Leroy W. and V. Pauline (Rupert) Lightner.

After taking care of her grandparents, Peggy purchased their former home. She then resided there for the remaining 69 years of her life.

They were united in marriage July 3, 1973, at Zion Lutheran Church in Petersburg by the Rev. Paul Jones. Peggy became a homemaker, raising her two sons, Ralph Jr. and Carey. She got the most enjoyment from spending time with her family and later in life “running” day trips with her husband, brother and sister-in-law.

In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her sisters Naomi J. Brumbaugh and Mardella P. Mayes (Donald) and brother Carey L. Lightner.
