Naomi Ruth Zimmerman, 62, formerly of 6660 Oak Drive, Huntingdon, Smithfield Township, died at 8:09 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, 2023, at her brother’s house in Philipsburg.
Born March 4, 1961, in Salem, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Joseph H. and Hazel A. (Lindsey) Zimmerman.
She is survived by her three siblings, Kenneth Zimmerman and wife Patty, Mapleton, David Zimmerman and wife Susan, Philipsburg, and Leah Pacheaco, McConnellstown; nieces and nephews, Anthony Pacheaco and wife Amanda, Palmerton, Jared Pacheaco of Huntingdon, Jonathan Pacheaco of Martinsburg, Heidi Singer and husband Sam, Williamsburg, and Abby and Ryan Zimmerman, both of Mapleton; and great-nieces and nephews, Annora Pacheaco, Anson Pacheaco, Tyrion Singer and Freya Singer.
She was preceded in death by a great-nephew, Maverick Singer, April 29, 2019.
Ruth retired after working for more than 30 years as a teacher. She last taught at Stone Valley Charter School in McAlevys Fort.
She was a member of the Bible Missionary Church in McConnellstown. She enjoyed reading, baking, gardening and crafts, especially needlepoint. She loved spending time with her family.
Ruth had been a resident of Huntingdon County for the past 17 years.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, and from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 2, at the McConnellstown Bible Missionary Church, 11383 Raystown Road, Huntingdon. A funeral service will be held at noon Saturday immediately following the visitation with the Revs. David Zimmerman and Daniel Ewald officiating. Interment will be made in Huntingdon Memorial Gardens, Huntingdon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Ruth Zimmerman to the McConnellstown Bible Missionary Church, 11381 Raystown Road, Huntingdon, PA 16652.
