Kenneth George Hinkle, 88 a long-time resident of Hesston Pennsylvania, Penn Township went to be with the Lord on Saturday October 11th, 2025 at 1:23 A.M. surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Three Springs on August 25, 1937. Kenneth exchanged wedding vows with the late Beverly Roberts Hinkle on June 30th, 1956 at the Hesston Community Chapel by the Reverend Edward Gobrecht. He celebrated 63 ½ years of marriage with his lovely wife Beverly before she passed away in 2020. They both were faithful members of the Heritage Baptist Church in McConnelstown. Kenneth attended a one room school house in the Hesston area until the 8th grade when he then focused on developing essential farm skills, management, livestock care, and operating machinery on the farm. His work history began humbly on his family’s farm where he developed a strong work ethic, which he taught to his children. Mr. Hinkle later contributed to the construction of Interstate 80 around the Milesburg area in the late 1960’s. Additionally, Kenneth was employed with Summers Logging from 1971 through 1984. In 1984 Mr. Hinkle embarked on a new venture “Hinkle Logging”, alongside his two sons Jeffery and the late Richard Hinkle and Kenneth’s late wife Beverly. In 1987 Kenneth transitioned to Penn Dot in Huntingdon where he progressed from driver to the Lowboy operator, a position that brought him immense satisfaction, operating all the different machinery until his retirement. Mr. Hinkle’s passion for horses was undeniable. He began riding at a very young age and later taught his children the art of horseback riding. His daughter Sherry shared his enthusiasm and could often be found riding alongside him. He did not only enjoy horses but everything that came with raising horses like bailing hay and working on his farm equipment. Mr. Hinkle enjoyed farming and gardening. Kenneth also enjoyed fishing and hunting with his sons. In the late 1970’s his house was hunting central. Early morning coffee and conversations were always likely as hunters, family and friends geared up to head out. Kenneth loved his family very much and enjoyed spending time with them. His son Jeffrey Hinkle lives in Hesston and Kenneth’s daughter Sherry Henry and her fiancé Bob Fisher lives mostly in Alexandria. His Grandchildren are Amy Jo and Jordan Hinkle, Ashlyne Henry, Tanner Hazlett, and his wife Karlee. Kenneth’s Granddaughter Shaylyne Hazlett preceded him in death June of this year. Mr. Hinkle’s Great Grandchildren are Alexis Henry, Evelyn, and Olivia Lindberg. His sisters are May Hess and her husband Robert of Entriken, Kaleen Bair and her husband Jerry of McConnelstown and Janet Madden of Cherrytown. Kenneth also was survived by his daughter and law Lynn Hinkle. He was also precedent in death by his brothers James and Wayne Hinkle and a brother-in-law James Madden. Kenneth truly missed his wife Beverly, their son Richard, and their Granddaughter Shaylyne. He enjoyed the family hay rides during their fourth of July picnics. He enjoyed camping very much. Just this past August Kenneth got to spend the week camping out at the Huntingdon County Fair where he spent much time visiting with family and friends reminiscing about old times. Throughout his life Kenneth took immense pride at being a devoted and supportive Father and Grandfather. Making time to encourage and celebrate his Children and Grandchildren’s passion whether it was his son’s playing baseball or his daughter and granddaughter’s horse shows, along with other various pursuits. One of Kenneth’s favorite past times was sitting on the porch with his late wife Beverly and his faithful fur baby Tucker. It brought him immense joy and comfort. Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Wednesday October 22, 2025 from 12 PM to 2 PM at the Cutright Funeral Home – Smithfield Chapel, 313 Fairgrounds Road, Huntingdon, Pennsylvania 16652. A graveside service will be held immediately after at Huntingdon Memorial Gardens, Huntingdon, Pennsylvania with UPMC Hospice Chaplain Brad Zembower.
