Jeffery A. Kelley of Alexandria, went home to be with the Lord Monday, Sept. 30, 2024.
He was born Feb. 26, 1957, in Altoona to Betty J. (Melhorn) Kelley who resides in Altoona and the late Kenneth C. Kelley.
Jeff was married to Ruth A. (Turnbaugh) Feb. 15, 2006. She survives at their residence.
In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by a son, Jacob A. Kelley and wife Hayle of Sharpsburg, Georgia, and their two children, Harley and James; a brother, William Kelley and wife Edie and children Matt, Bobby and Billy of Altoona; a sister Susan Rossman and husband Steve and children Ian, Zack and Isaac of Altoona; a sister Melissa Kelley and children John and Mandy Albright of Altoona.
He was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. In addition to Jeff’s family, he was also a devoted and special loved one to Ruth’s family: Ruth’s sister and husband, Jim & Maryellen Coble; sister-in-law Maryann Turnbaugh; nieces and nephews, Randy and Beth Perrin family, Jeff and Leslie Stauffer family, Claude and Lisa Rowe family, Bob and Angie Turnbaugh family, Shelley Coble family and Janet Sheeler family.
Jeff graduated in 1975 from Altoona High School and from Thaddeus Steven College of Technology in 1977 as an electrician. He was employed by B&B Design Systems of Shade Gap for 17 years as an electrical supervisor.
He was a member of Heritage Baptist Church, McConnellstown, where he served as deacon and also served on the church planning committee in restructuring the facility to include a kitchen and fellowship hall.
Jeff was a life member of the Hartslog Heritage Museum Board and served as Hartslog Day electrician for many years.
Jeff enjoyed the Canadian fishing trips with his church buddies, hunting and playing with our own homegrown band, the Foggy Minded Boys!
Jeff and his wife enjoyed being a help when needed to neighbors, church members and friends. They were devoted to always being there when needed.
Friends will be received 6-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, and from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at Heritage Baptist Church, 11332 Raystown Road, McConnellstown (Huntingdon). A funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at the church with the Rev. Lou Zannino officiating.
Family and friends will gather for his interment at 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at Alexandria Presbyterian Cemetery, Alexandria.
