Daniel Edward Ritchey, Sr.

Daniel Edward Ritchey Sr., 74, 5719 Barree Road, Alexandria, died at 5:25 p.m. Monday, April 29, 2024, at at his residence in Alexandria.

Born Dec. 30, 1949, in Huntingdon, he was the son of the late Robert Paul Ritchey and Phyllis Mae Morningstar and step-father John William “Jack” Metzgar. He married Karyn E. McDaniel Nov. 1, 1969, in Alexandria, at their residence.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Daniel Edward Ritchey Jr. and his wife Cindy of Colonia, New Jersey; two grandchildren, Alexsandra Ritchey and Daniel Edward Ritchey III; a sister, Vivian Ritchey and her companion Jim Tucker of Alexandria.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Steven Ritchey.

Mr. Ritchey retired in 2012 after working for many years as management for Ocean County Mall.

Daniel was an avid NASCAR and Pirates fan. He loved driving his Sling Shot.

He graduated from Juniata Valley High School class of 1967.

Daniel served in the United States Navy

He had lived at his Alexandria residence since 2012.

Family and friends are invited to a gathering from 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 3, at the Cutright Funeral Homes-Smithfield Chapel, 313 Fairgrounds Road, Huntingdon. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Daniel Ritchey Sr. to the Huntingdon County Humane Society, 11371 Schoolhouse Hollow Road, Huntingdon, PA 16652.
