Charles Creighton Shoemaker

Charles Creighton Shoemaker, 76, Alexandria, died at 8:15 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born Feb. 19, 1949, he was a son of the late Lawrence William and Mary Charlotte (Hoffer) Shoemaker.

He is survived by three siblings, Barbara E. Heaton, Huntingdon, Lawrence “Bill” W. Shoemaker and wife, Louise, Huntingdon, and Mary C. Donaldson and husband, Ron, McVeytown; nieces and nephews, Judy Dibble and husband, Edward, Hesston, Carla Heaton, Huntingdon, J. Sean Heaton and wife, Lori, Huntingdon, Sonya Grove, Alexandria, William Shoemaker, Huntingdon, Brian Shoemaker and Cody Donaldson, Huntingdon; two great-nieces and two great-nephews, Haleigh Truchok and husband, Tom, Kodiak Heaton and wife, Kaylene, Brook Grove and Alex Heaton.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Leroy H. Hoffer, a niece, Darlene Harkleroad Hoffer, two nephews, Christopher Heaton and Dwayne Grove, and a brother-in-law, Ronald Heaton.

Charles was a member of and enjoyed attending Christ Reformed Church, Alexandria. He enjoyed family, collecting watches and pictures of family and friends. Charles enjoyed records and listening to music. His favorite TV programs were Little House on the Prairie and The Waltons. Charles especially enjoyed the caregivers at the group home.

He was employed by Skills of Pennsylvania as a laborer for many years.

Family and friends are invited to a viewing and visitation from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29, at the Cutright Funeral Home-Smithfield Chapel, 313 Fairgrounds Road, Huntingdon. A funeral service will be held at 8 p.m., immediately following the visitation, with the Rev. Angelo Valle officiating. Interment will take place in Donation Cemetery, Huntingdon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Charles Shoemaker to the Skills of Central Pa. Inc., 40 Pennsylvania Ave., Huntingdon, PA 16652.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Cutright Funeral Home —Smithfield Chapel, 313 Fairgrounds Road, Huntingdon.
